Carolina Brewery Announces 29th Anniversary Celebration

Carolina Brewery will celebrate 29 years at their Chapel Hill Brewery Restaurant featuring a unique anniversary beer.

Chapel Hill, NC - February 6, 2024 - Carolina Brewery, the oldest craft brewery in the Triangle, announces their 29th anniversary celebration. This event will take place on February 9, 2024, starting at 5:00 p.m. at their Chapel Hill Brewery Restaurant. As part of this special occasion, Carolina Brewery will feature a limited-edition anniversary beer, Cherry Stout, brewed with their state-of-the-art nano system in Chapel Hill. This unique brew reflects the craftsmanship and dedication that have defined Carolina Brewery for the past 29 years.

"We proudly welcomed our first guests on February 9th, 1995, marking the beginning of a pioneering era on West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill as the 5th oldest brewery in North Carolina," stated Robert Poitras, Founder of Carolina Brewery. "Over the past 29 years, Carolina Brewery has become a cherished tradition for both locals and visitors. As Chapel Hill and West Franklin Street undergo continuous growth and evolution, we eagerly anticipate many more years of hosting memorable game days, serving scratch-made food, and crafting award-winning beers."

Carolina Brewery has been a place of social connection and enjoyment, offering a spot where customers can unwind with an ice-cold Sky Blue Kolsch, share moments with friends over a generous plate of Potato Chip Nachos, or immerse themselves in the spirited "TAR...HEELS" chant on the Sky Blue Express following a Carolina victory.

Poitras fondly recalls a cherished moment at Carolina Brewery, reminiscing, "Roy Williams reached out to me to set up his daughter's graduation party at Carolina Brewery. We moved heaven and earth to make it happen for him. Day of, a man in mirrored sunglasses, holding a gift, walks up to me and says he is here to see Roy Williams. I didn't even recognize him until he took his sunglasses off but it was Dean Smith. I walk him through the packed restaurant to our private dining room upstairs. Dean Smith and Roy Williams embrace. As a Tar Heel Alumni and owner of a downtown Chapel Hill institution, it is a memory I will never forget. To this day, I still wish I had taken a photo!"

Join Carolina Brewery in raising a glass to commemorate 29 years of exceptional scratch-made food, innovative craft beer, and the vibrant spirit of the Carolina Life.
